Before:

• “I’m bad with names, but good with faces” You’ve already accepted that you’re going to forget everyone’s name you meet, and you think that’s the way it has to be.

   
• "I heard their Name, but forgot it 10 seconds later…."
  
  You're sick of feeling embarrassed, or worried of hurting their feelings. You don't understand why your brain tends to forget everyone's name right after hearing it.
• "Oh my gosh, I didn’t hear them say their Name at All…."
  
  You're introduced to someone. You exchange pleasantries and move straight into talking. Then it hits you: you never actually registered their name in the first place.
   
• "I don’t remember ever having met this person…"
  
  Someone approaches you with a huge smile: “Oh my gosh, hey!” They're clearly delighted to see you. There's just one problem… You have no idea who they are, or where you've met this person. 
• "I recognize their Face, but I can’t remember their Name…"
  You're thinking about someone you used to know. You can picture them... but their name is forgotten. Then someone says it, and suddenly everything clicks: “YES! That's it!”
• "I already forgot their name and now I’m too embarrassed to ask what it is again…"
  
  You've just met someone and they told you their name. But a second later, you don’t remember it, and now you don’t know how to get it again without being “weird” or making them feel bad. Now you want to disappear, or avoid introducing them to someone else, just to avoid the awkwardness. 

After:

• You feel confident that you can, and will, remember as many names and faces as you want, because you’re applying the techniques you learned in this one day workshop. You experience a new sense of confidence and relief whenever you meet people, because you trust that your memory will not fail you this time… so you can focus on the person in front of you instead of being distracted by your blank mind.

   
• You understand why you used to forget everybody's name! You learned the neuroscience behind why the brain has the hardest time remembering Names (more than anything else), and practiced the step-by-step process to never forget a name again (you learned these in Lesson 2 & Lesson 4).
• You never again forget a name right after hearing it, because you've learned the “Rules of Linking” and the "Echo & Bridge" Conversational Chess Strategies to keep your connection flowing and conversation going (you learned these in Lesson 6 & Lesson 7).
• When someone walks up to you, you instantly remember their name when you see their face, because you learned the 'Photographic Vision’ technique and you’ve practiced “Caricature Thinking”. Now, you can greet others with matched enthusiasm, because you remember exactly who they are, and how you know them.  (you learned these in Lesson 5 and Lesson 6).
• When you think of someone from your past, their name is obvious and clear in your mind, because you know how to do Long-Term memory techniques that ensure a Name can be recalled in your mind for days, weeks or even years. (you learned this in Lesson 9).
• You know 3 variations to confidently ask someone their name again, in a way that makes them feel “seen” instead of unimportant. You feel confident in regaining your composure and connection when you accidentally missed hearing a name, or accidentally forgot one you previously encoded to memory. Arielle Jacobs is a Broadway actress who has starred on Broadway in Disney's Aladdin, Wicked, In The Heights, David Byrne's Here Lies Love, and performed onstage for millions around the world.
